About ERAN

ERAN is The Department of Trade and Industry’s (the dti‘s) coordinated economic research advisory network comprising of representatives from the national and provincial economic development government departments, government entities, universities and research institutions.

Mission

To help promote high quality economic and development research that contributes to sustainable and inclusive development and competitiveness of the South African economy.

Aim

To bridge a diverse community of researchers for the purpose of bringing existing and new knowledge to the fore ground of economic development and competitive debates and initiatives in the South African economy.

ERANs’ Functions

• ERAN advises, support and advocate for quality research;
• It has no legislative, administrative authority, it is advisory only; and
• Participation in all activities of ERAN will be on a non-remunerative voluntary basis.
